I was taken aback when I discovered that dog fleas affect my pet, it was really a shock to me. I had never thought in my dream that my pet will be infected by fleas but when it happened, it was not time to worry and get panic, and rather it was time to take the appropriate action. There are various ways by which one can get rid of dog fleas however choosing a natural method for the same is the best choice. Here are some ways that I choose and I share it with you all.
Salt and baking powder
Dog fleas can be killed by applying the use of both salt and baking powder. For this take out all your furniture and sprinkle a generous amount of salt and baking powder all over the carpet. Leave it for overnight or maybe for a week depending on the seriousness of the flea infection. This natural flea medication can then be cleaned with the help of a vacuum cleaner. You can mix the salt and the baking powder together and then use it or you can use both these powders separately.
Put some grapefruit and some orange peel in a blender along with a cup of water. Blend all these things well until these three things mix well. Strain this liquid to exclude orange and grape particles and then cook the mixture on low flame for about 20 minutes. Allow it to cool down and then pour this flea medication in a spray bottle, add a few drops of lavender oil in it; spray the areas of your house with it about 4 times a day. This is the best way to get rid of dog fleas, as it is natural.
Another side effect free flea medication is to use rosemary and cedar wood oil. Take a handful of rosemary and boil it for 20 minutes in appropriate quantity of water, say about 2 cups. Strain the mixture and allow it to cool down. Add a few drops of cedar wood oil in it and then put it in a spray bottle. You can spray this all over your furniture, beds and even over your cat. You need not wash this natural flea medication.
